Lisa Cote

Lisa Cote, class of 1990, was a 12-time varsity letter athlete competing in tennis (4 years), cross-country running (1 year), soccer (4 years) and softball (3 years).  Lisa won the North Coast Section championship with her tennis partner Julie Radder in 1988 and she earned MVP at the Queen of the Mountain tournament for softball in 1989.  Lisa was named to First Team All-EBAL in soccer (4 years), in tennis (2 years) and in softball (2 years).  In 1988, she was ranked the #1 EBAL female athlete of the year by the Contra Costa Times.  Soccer was Lisa’s main sport where at the age of 15 was selected to the California Youth Soccer Association State Select team. In 1988, she was selected to represent the U.S. Western Region IV, where she competed against the 3 other U.S. Regional teams as well as international teams.  In 1989, Lisa was asked to attend the U-20 National pool tryouts in Florida.  With all that being said, Lisa’s most memorable achievement at Monte Vista is her team’s back-to-back Powder Puff championships with her role as quarterback.

Lisa earned a scholarship to play soccer at the University of California at Berkeley where she was co-lead scorer for Cal her freshman year.  Lisa graduated from Cal in 1994 where she switched her focus to triathlons.   In 2002, Lisa completed an Ironman in Penticton, Canada.
